Second quarter 2010 was full of retro remixes. I have again split the Q2 rewind into three parts starting with a few varieties of house remixes. I expect many of these are hit or miss depending on your taste, but if you like retro there is plenty here for you! Stay tuned for the club, electro, trance and more in parts 2 and 3!

One more injeciton of Electro house, Club Electro and Anthem electro then right into a smooth ride through some new prog house and trance remixes.

2010 comes out of the box with many strong club and electro reworks. Here are some of my favorites guaranteed to keep your house party jumpin! Part 2 finishes out with just a taste of some of the club biased progressive, but Part 3 is still on the way with more prog house and trance to smooth out the end of your evening.

The hottest new house music of 2010, only 6 months late! :P That's right it's finally here, the EarVelvet 2010 Q1 Rewind, Part 1! This quarter since I am doing all the parts at the same time they are split up more by genre than chronology of the quarter, so first up is Part 1 full of house, dance, disco and retro rework goodness. Stay tuned for electro house, club and more in the Part 2!

Ok so a few months overdue. I used a bunch of these tunes at a New Year's Eve party and neglected to ever go back and run through the whole list of what was left for 2009. It's quick and rought to give you a taste of everything from beat, to house, club, electro and a couple trance. There are a few gems in here worth having in your crate even if they are from 2009. Enjoy!

Holy crap it's cold outside! Time to heat things up and keep the party going with a second injection for new tunes for the 4th Quarter of 2009. This year may turn out to be one of the best yet, particularly for House Electro and Trance. Here's an hour and forty minutes of everything!

Time to go back to the roots of the Rewind. Rather than wait until the end of the quarter to put together different sets of different genres, this is a mixed genre set of house, club, electro, progressive house and trance all together and all new from the past several weeks. Let the rain come down and dance till you die!

This quarter I decided to be a bit more discriminatory and chopped out enough tunes to cram all the house, club and electro into one part a bit longer than usual. Being that it is lazy Sunday, I simply hit sort by genre and ran through the whole list top to bottom nonstop breaking only to split the progressive house, trance and electronic tunes at the end into their own set. Protip; don’t do a live set just by sorting by genre. Many of these clearly don’t play well together but they sure make for some interesting transitions (read: train wrecks). Hopefully there is a tune for everyone in this mess, can you find yours?

The live recording of my performance on Saturday night 9/19/09 for a live audience at the Seattle Marriott is now available for download/stream. This set regressed into a few places I didn't originally intend to go, but after going back and giving it a listen after the fact, I am pretty happy with how everything went together. If you're looking for an eclectic mix of some classics and new club and electro house, this should keep your toe tapping!

I managed to get to the 90min mark last night on Part 2 without even getting to the progressive and trance tracks, so rather than complete destroy them with 30 second megamix style cuts, I saved them and put them all by themselves in this hour where they *gasp* play out! Plus a little bonus on the end for someone :P
That's it for Q2 of 2009. All three parts are availabele now at:

And back to our regularly scheduled programming! The Rewind series is intended to give amatuer DJ's a preview of new material that they may wish to add to their crate. There is little consideration to the quality of the mix or the arrangement of the tracks. Part 2 here is a good demonstration of how to crowbar a bunch of tunes that don't belong together into one mix. Enjoy! And don't try this at home.

As a tribute to a great artist's untimely passing, I present you EarVelvet's Homage to Michael Jackson. In true EarVelvet fashion this compilation contains House, R&B, Club, Electro, Trance and Drum & Bass remixes of some popular and not so popular MJ tunes. If you are a hardcore MJ purist you may want to skip this one.

Time to start summer off right with some hot new tunes. Plenty of house, a taste of house electro and a smidgen of progressive to finish things off until I get around to a part two. Sorry if the transitions in these are getting rougher every time, I just don't have the time to do more than live mix them blind anymore. If you want a smoother set for parties and such, wait for live or produced studio sets (if I ever have time for those!).

Moar house, Moar Electro, Moar Club and a sprinkle of progressive. This almost didn't happen but there was just enough still laying around from Q1 to put together a part 3, and I was stuck on my couch with a cold on the first sunny weekend of the spring! My loss is your gain, here you go!
Need some variety in your day? Take this short journey from the Land of House through Club Row, down Electro Alley then back up Progressive Parkway and over to the Trance Turnpike before letting your leadfoot lead you over the Electronica pass and into the golden valley of Drum & Bass!
